I am Louise Holway, and I like design of all sorts.
Designing buildings from the ground up. Arranging windows for optimal daylighting and energy efficiency. Paring clothes based on materials, shapes, colour, fit. Scrutinising font choices and layout. Organising kitchen cupboards for maximum flow. Selecting furniture and decorations to achieve desires ambiance. Ascetic and coherence is at the heart of my work.

I'm a trained architect, structural engineer, and sustainable designer.
I earned my bachelor's degree in Architecture and Structural Engineering from Northeastern University 2022. I earned my master's degree in Advanced Sustainable Design from University of Edinburgh.
I am a building physics engineer by day,
I work at Buro Happold Inc. as a Graduate Sustainability and Building Physics Engineer at the Edinburgh office. My work resolves around applying parametric modelling to passive design strategies and harnessing the power of the climate to reduce buildings' carbon footprint. I use technology to improve rate of design, ensure client and occupant satisfaction, achieve design ambitions, and ensure the project's environmental footprint is mitigated.

and digital artist by night.
The founder and artist behind DausLaus, I pursue my graphic design interest by creating and selling NFTs. I take inspiration from the subject's aura, energy, spoken and unspoken language, and style. My personal ascetic can be described as zen, minimalist, and crisp, yet imaginative, organic, and elegant.

Why Daus Laus?
In 7th grade French, I was gifted the nickname "Lois". Throughout the years and pubescent awkward phases, this transformed to "Laus". As a neuro-spicy individual with a plethora of passions and ever growing list of interests, I find it boring to settle on a single identity when we are creatures of growth and evolvement. "Daus" means "two, second, or next". It also vaguely reminds me of Bauhaus, which I vibe with.

I also have other passions.
I aim see as much of the world as I can. I enjoy learning from different cultures, practices, beliefs, cuisines, traditions, fashion. I use this knowledge to inform my design decisions and create holistic solutions. I'm a self-proclaimed adrenalin junkie; skiing, snowboarding, hiking, skydiving, so far. I actually enjoy running; I ran division 1 cross-country and track during my undergraduate studies and now taking a stab at marathon training. I'm ambidextrous, collect journals, love spicy food, appreciate good coffee, and five is my favourite number.
